Cross Country Training Challenge Starts Week 2
The school cross country will be happening at the end of term 1 and as such it is time to start training!
This year we will be running a Training Challenge for all the year 5-8 at our school. On the day, the intermediates will be asked to run a 2.5km course, and the Y5/6 a 1.5km course. This is not a short distance and they will need to train. Not only will this benefit their health but the more training they do the more they will enjoy the event and as an added bonus we will be giving a $50 Stirling Sports Voucher to one lucky child.
To qualify for this voucher your child will need to register for the event and do at least 3 training runs a week. At the completion of the term, one child will be selected randomly for the prize.
In order to keep track of who is doing what you will need to
- set up a free account at www.mapmyrun.com - you will need to register as a family as you need to be 14+ to join, please get your parents permission to do this.
- email Miss Griffin with the email address you used to register so you can be added to the challenge
- Keep a record of all training runs on www.mapmyrun (remember 3 a week will qualify you for the $50 voucher)
Miss Griffin will be teaching the students how to use www.mapmyrun throughout week 2, but if you should have any questions please do not hesitate to contact her.
