E-Learning

          

 

A classroom of students of mixed level, age and ability that want to be there. Students working independently, with learning that features, reading, maths, writing, art, technology, social studies/science and computers activities. Learning using activities not designed around the technology, but with technology begin used if it is the best tool for the activity.Students choosing what tools they need to do whatever activity they are doing (these could be computers, cameras, tripods, scanners, video, DVDs, CDs, PDAs, iPod, ipads, internet, email, USB instruments, microphones, Topic books, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, thesauruses, crayons, pastels, paint, brushes, pens, felts, pencils, calculators, paper etc). This is the beginning of a classroom wired for action!
These students are demonstrating independence, co-operation, self-management and communication, numeracy, information, problem solving, work and study skills. These are all the essential skills of the National curriculum framework.
This class encourages independent learners and students are more self-directed. The environment will promote the developing of higher order thinking skills. It will offer children global learning opportunities through more available access. It can improve children's self esteem. Most of all, it promotes collaborative and co-operative learning.
