Motutapu
Motutapu Team
The Motutapu team for 2010 is made up of four classes:
Ruru 2 - Tania Campbell- Year 2 (Team Leader)
Pukeko 1 - Lisa Pearson- Year 2/3
Tui 2 - Sarah Cooke- Year 3/4
Tui 1 - Sarah Cullen- Year 4
Motutapu team is a multi-level team with classes ranging from Year 2 to Year 4. We work closely with the Maungawhau team, who has similar year levels to us. Working in this way enables us to share teacher strengths and enable students to share their skills with a range of age groups. We have had a great start to the year with all our classes settling into positive work habits and learning to work together. We have all written an individual class treaty with the students in our class and these have been signed and displayed in our classrooms.
Homework is well underway and most children are making a great effort to complete this work. Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about any class work or homework.
We are looking forward to a great year of fun learning.
Class Visit.
On Wednesday 24th February the Rangitoto, Motutapu and Maungawhau teams went on a great trip to Telstra Clear Pacific Events Centre for Dancing with Mythology. This was an opportunity to learn about dance, drama and kapa haka all related to the Pou Kapua, which is the huge carved pillar which
stands outside the Events Centre.
We really enjoyed learning how to sing, dance and do the haka. The tutors
were great and they helped us to learn lots about the Maori gods.
Here is a slide show made by Mrs Campbell which shows some of the fun photos from our day.
Thanks Tania
