Kea 2 Teacher
Born in Bury, England, the early years of my life were spent in what
was then Lancashire and is now Greater Manchester. Like many
Mancunians, my passion was soccer and at the tender age of nine I
became an ardent Manchester City fan.
Many years later I attended Lancaster University, majoring in English
and Education, before completing my teacher training in 1982.
For 15 years I taught at various schools in Manchester and Liverpool
before deciding in 1998 to head over (like many South Africans at the
time) to New Zealand with my family.
After five years teaching ‘accelerate’ classes at Rosehill
Intermediate and various local schools, I moved to The Gardens.
In my three years as a teacher at The Gardens, I have been
fortunate to have worked with enthusiastic and supportive colleagues,
teaching sometimes challenging, endlessly entertaining, often
perplexing and always fascinating intermediate learners!
