I was born in Clyde & brought up in Alexandra, South Island.
Following the only career I ever wanted, I went to Otago’s College of
Education. It was here I met my husband Mark & after graduating
we moved to Auckland. I worked for a couple of years in the junior
school of St John’s Evangelist School in Otara and then to the middle
school of Conifer Grove School. The next move was to Hamilton where
I worked in the senior school of Nawton School for many years.
I gave this up to have Kate but ten months later I was back teaching
part-time as I missed my job. Mark once again was on the move but I
made him commute to Auckland for six months before he finally made
me sell the house and move. (I did eventually stop crying every time
we visited Hamilton!) After I had Matt, I once again needed time out
of the house & I returned to Conifer Grove School part time.
I am lucky enough to be here, in The Gardens, working & living in such
a great community with so much to offer its fantastic children &
their families.
