VIV LEE
Spanish & Music Teacher
(Part-time)
An optimistic, collaborative, social person, I was born and raised in
Waiuku, one of eight children. I attended a small primary school,
Kariaotahi, then Waiuku College, before moving to Auckland to train
as a teacher.
From teaching, I worked for the IHC, and then moved to Australia,
where I met and married my husband and had two children.
Wanting a country lifestyle for our children, we returned to NZ ten
years ago and I went back to teaching and started learning Spanish.
This is an ongoing process, which has involved spending time in
Argentina on an AFS Ministry of Education Immersion Award, and in
Spain – which included time at a Spanish language school as part of an
NZ Association of Language Teachers Award for primary school
teachers.
My passions are family, Spanish, music and cooking (being a part of a
large family gives plenty of scope for this).
This is my second year at The Gardens School and I value the
opportunity to work as part of The Gardens community.
