From Tuesday 9th June, NZ is at Alert Level 1.
All students should now be back at school.
We draw our students primarily from within our enrolment area. We have strong foundations of literacy and numeracy which underpins all other activities.
We see the education of children as a partnership between home and school. We value parent input and invite parents and caregivers to share in the development and progress of their children at school.
We aim for our school to have a friendly, caring and family-oriented environment. We believe our key to success is happy children who are motivated to learn, with parents feeling comfortable to join in the learning process.
We aim to provide a range of challenging learning opportunities within the classroom and beyond and to enable the learner to develop his/her own individual potential. We believe in educating the whole child – intellectual, cultural, social, emotional and physical – in exciting and creative ways.
Our original school buildings have undergone demolition and rebuild due, in the main, to leaky building syndrome. The demolition of the original school occurred in August, 2015 and the rebuild on our amazing new school commenced in June, 2016 and we moved in just before Christmas, 2017. In early 2018 the final stages were completed, which included the demolition of the Poutama building (which was also affected by weather-tightness issues), the removal of the 27 temporary classrooms from our school field and the reinstatement of brand new playgrounds. We are very excited to finally be in our new school and our staff and Board have worked very hard to prepare for this shift. For more information about our rebuild, please check out our rebuild website or take a walk down memory lane with the video below.
